Using the Dehydrated Baby Food

Last fall I had a little too much fun making dehydrated baby food.  For how to make your own, check the first post on carrots and this one where I made more from squash, pumpkin, and sweet potato.  Well, baby brother is finally big enough to be eating solids, so we’ve been using some of our dehydrated baby food.

This stuff is slick.  It mixes with hot water like baby cereal.  In fact, so far I’ve just been mixing it in with baby brother’s cereal.  I get to choose how much I put in and there’s no waste.  And it’s easy.

Put the powdered baby food in the bowl with or without cereal, formula, etc.

Add hot water and stir.  Get enough water in and stir enough that you know you’ve got it all re-hydrated.  Taste it if you want to check for any graininess.  I haven’t had any problem as long as I stirred it up good.

After you’ve got it all mixed up, feed your baby.  Yummy.  Well, as yummy as squash mixed with rice cereal ever was.  Super easy, travels well, and no waste.  Now that was a fun experiment.  We’re loving the instant baby food powder!
